Why are we giving b-zero so much press? Let's face issues!

How will we be able to pay for health insurance administered by a whole new level of staffing (costs money!) if we can't afford it without that level of administration? Nobody in government can give us what we don't already have and they take from us.

If we don't start NOW developing energy resources, we will still be at least ten years away from having new energy resources. Let's start NOW. The people are already doing it. Let them do it!!!

Let's face truth: the government can't give you what it didn't first take from you.
If we can't afford health care now, we can't afford to pay more for the government to administer it.

If we don't deal with illegals now, we will continually increase our burden of paying their health care and paying for their stay in our jails. Talk about why the cost of health care is rising! Think on that for a minute.

If we keep failing to let the free markets work, we can expect to work harder to pay for our stupidity!

I don't need another busy body telling me what to do or who to help or how to go about it. B-zero, get lost. Come on, John!

Need 1-liners for Congress

Examples:

- I lost a million dollars of my retirement in the stock market between 2000 and 2003. Nobody bailed me out. And now you want ME to bail out Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae because of their greed and stupidity? I don't think so!

- You up the minimum wage and then wonder why we have an inflationary spiral and a lot of teenagers out of work.

- Health care costs are increasing by the minute. Is that why you want us to pay for free benefits to illegal workers?

Remember, when the government does something, it comes out of YOUR and my pocket.

Who says there is anything wrong?

For weeks, I have been pouting about the energy situation. I thought, why do we have to suffer, just because China decided to wake up? I pouted about all the complaining over gas prices. Etc, etc, etc.

Today, it occurred to me what a marvelous thing is happening now:

- people are making economic decisions, based on facts:

-- riding their motorcycle instead of their SUV

 -- buying hybrid cars

-- being careful to turn off lights and other appliances

- working on some new solutions to producing gas and fuel

 -- nuclear improvements

 -- gas from fast-growing plants

-- drilling in ANWR and other places in the US

 -- bio-fuels

What is wonderful is the amazing ability of the American people to take a difficult situation and find hundreds of ways to attack it and solve it. That is just what we need. We don't need to see what the addition of socialist policies and controls will do. We just need to let our people have at it for a while, because they WILL find solutions; some may not work, but eventually, we will find ways to beat this problem, if the government will just keep its hands out of it.

Look out! Mr. O had an idea.

He thinks that education will soar if the kids will be creative. Then the teachers will be creative.

I wonder if the NEA knows about this.
I wonder how teachers feel, that Mr. O thinks they haven't been creative for the twenty years they have been teaching.

This is almost as good as some of my ideas.

Rising costs and lower employment

If someone suggested this, I missed it:

1) Are health care costs rising because of all the non-paying, non-citizen usage of our resources?

2) How many jobs did not move to India, but were taken by our mobile southern population?

What do you think?

How low can we stoop?

This country was founded on the principle that ordinary people can govern themselves.

Every day, it seems, this premise is shot at, whittled away, and gunned down by people who have benefitted in every way from it. They have had the best and smallest government, the greatest opportunities, the most equality, the most freedom of anywhere and  any time in history, and they choose to call it into question, tor emove it bit by bit and piece by piece for forms of government that cannot possibly match what they have had.

I am in tears as I write this. I don't know what happened. I have voted in every election that I could, I have tried to stay informed, I have prayed, I have talked, I have volunteered - I have done everything I know to do to preserve this amazing way of life and government, and somehow it is still slipping away.

The courts have decided to make law. As far as I know, there is no way to stop them. There is no check or balance to their abuse.

I am a state employee in Colorado. Today was an election to determine if we would be represented by collective bargaining. I was not informed of a polling place. I received no ballot or notification. The election was engendered by an executive order of the governor, who made it possible for the vote of a quorum to force all of us to bow to the decision made in the election.

I am devastated! I am now a union employee. I had no choice. If I had been able to vote, maybe I could have justified it, but to have to be bargained for when I did not get to vote is tyranny and betrayal greater than I have ever experienced.

The supreme court decision betrays me and all the citizens of the United States and all our fighting men.

What is happening? What can stem the tide? How can our good and gracious law be run roughshod over to produce a mediocre imitation of a fifth-world power or a 50-cent marxism? Is there not something we can do to stop it? Please.

Regarding the nationalization of oil:

We just spent 30 painful (and expensive) years undoing the nationalization of the phone system. Can't they make up their minds?!

Regarding big oil

Let us remember:
- how many American citizens are employed by big oil.
- how many Americans receive dividend distributions from oil companies.
- how many Americans own stock in oil companies and have excellent appreciation on their investment
- how many royalty owners are receiving big checks from the oil companies.

Then, remember how much of this money is going directly to the government at all levels through taxes and assessments.

Tearing down this industry does not make sense.

Second,
Let us see in how many ways we can make it impossible to do anything differently:
- no drilling in ANWHR
- no offshore drilling
- no new refineries (congratulations, South Dakota, for trying to do something productive!)
- additional taxes on oil production
- limiting the kinds of light bulbs we can produce/buy
- limiting oil production to 9 months of the year.

Why can't we let brilliant AMerican minds go to work on this situation?

Give investment tax credits for alternative energy.
While people are thinking up new ways to get around, we drill in some places and get some home oil, dropping the foreign oil every chance we can.

Reactivate some nuclear plants.

Why do we have to tackle this thing one way, with our hands tied behind our backs and based on ignorant assumptions that are not based on science or fact?

Get a life, liberals, and spend it somewhere else!

culture of fear

Don't let your kid cross the street. He could get run over!

Don't let the troops stay in Iraq. There aren't enough of them.

Don't let anyone smoke. They might give out second-hand smoke.

Don't leave your microwave plugged in. You might use too much energy.

Don't...

Don't...

Don't...

Don't we get to decide anymore? Does someone have to lead us by the hand in everything? Don't we get to think for ourselves anymore?

Don't let the dems turn your life into a culture of fear.

Taking offense or being offended?

In the old days, people remembered the word that it is an honor to overlook an offense by another person. Only slowly did people become able to express that someone had offended them.

Being offended has become the rage: now we look for things at which to be offended. It doesn't matter how shallow or how thin the premise, let's get in there and be offended!

I say, get a job! get a life! If you want to rob yourself of all the fun and enjoyment in life, focus on how much you are being offended. That will take all the joy right out of life for you.

I am an auditor. If I took everything that people say seriously, I would damage my ability to go to work, to love life, to consider myself a whole person. I can't go on what others say. People say things - sometimes to joke, sometimes from fear. How much better we both are if I respond in love and life. Their fear is lessened and I can do my job.

We have moved from thinking that we are taking offense at what someone said (active), to thinking that we have been offended (passive) and can't do anything about it. You would be amazed what happens when you let these things go. How lovely life can be when we don't let ourselves be under the foot of what others say.

Come to think of it, isn't it mostly liberals who spend their time being offended?

Democrats: Here is Your Way to Win

Democrats, you now have a way to win the hearts of the American people. You have an opportunity that doesn't come around very often, but you can change the course of the nation and gain the hearts of the people.
This is the time to let go of the things that keep us down, time to let go of entitlements, the most serious drug that is infecting our populace, time to let go of fixing things for everybody. It is time to embrace the things that give our people vision, that give them hope, that induce them to think of new ideas, to work for self-respect, to have the life they have dreamed about.
Oh sure, you could give it to them. But why? Do you want the people to resent you? Do you want the people to hate themselves for not earning their way? Do you want us to slow down to a nearly immeasurable creep in our inventions and innovations?
When someone does something for you, do you keep doing it? When your aide opens your car door, do you keep trying to open it yourself? No. You let him/her do it. It is the same with us. You do it for us, and we stop doing it.
So take this chance. Take this opportunity. Let go the things that pay us off, that pay us not to invent, that pay us not to work, that pay us to sit still and wait for another handout. Do the things that let us work and earn, that excite us about possibilities, that induce us to get better.
You can start the next technological revolution. You can start the people on a track of hope and belief and pride. Why wait? Let go of the old; let the free market work; and receive the love of this people.

Islam is Politics

Most American politicians are afraid of losing any votes or vote blocks by saying something politically incorrect. They will not call Islam what it is. They choose to refer to terrorists as Islamo-fascists or radical Islamists or some other misnomer. Actually, Islam is Islam, and America is its enemy.

Therefore, I am proposing that we view Islam as a political, rather than a religious, organization. It has political goals; it uses political means; war is within its purview. This may allow some politicians to tell it straight and focus on the right things to win the war and defeat our enemies.

Get off of my religion!

First, they took prayer out of schools, then it was Christ out of Christmas, now it's taking "In God We Trust" off the coins. O think they can't steal any more of my religious heritage, and they  find another way to take my religious freedom.
It doesn't take much to offend people anymore. They whine and they cry. They forgot that, in America, people are supposed to get offended. It happens naturally in this democratic republic. Then, because people have faith in God, they find forgiveness or boldness to work out differences or wisdom to find a new solution. We were never meant to slide through life without getting into some tussles. Majority rules, so you'd better have your dukes up!
You cannot have a society of laws without nearly everyone having God ( and I don't mean the violent, hateful, terrorist god of the murderer extremists ). There are not enough lawmen and soldiers in the world to  keep us in check if no one has God inside of them to guide them. You end up with anarchy or violence.
So, U.S. , get your hands out of my religion because you are going to need it!

Bring on the aliens!

Our housing markets are in a sorry state! Our workers continue to push for higher wages, even when many jobs are finding their way overseas. We are paying 40 to 50% of our income to the government to support a lot of people who are unproductive. What could be a solution?
Bring in the aliens! Let them buy 12 million houses, built beyond the level of current demand. Let them do the low and middle level jobs for more money than they can think about (but still lower than American workers), and let them pay taxes on their earnings, pay for the benefits they have been receiving. Watch the US stay in the race for best country in the world.
Something to think about.
